This Monday, March 15, the City Council will consider a request from the EIR consultants for an additional $26,200 to expand the scope of the EIR for the Moraga Canyon Sports Field proposal.

Also, it is likely that an additional appropriations request will be needed to prepare the “Response to Comments” for the “Draft EIR.” Until the consultants receive the comments, they don’t know how much more money will be needed!

So far, the City has already appropriated $430,000 for this study–$220,000 from City funds and $210,000 from private funding.  Add the additional $26,200 funds requested and you have nearly a quarter million dollars of City funding….and with no end in sight!  Do you want our public funds spent in this way, especially considering Piedmont’s present financial state?
